In terms of Search Engine traffic Google would still dominate, however in terms of traffic by UVs Yahoo is still ranking first in the internet world according to alexa.

Yahoo or MSN Live Search alone can never beat google in Search, but what would happen if Microsoft combines forces with Yahoo? If they were to release Yahoo Publisher Network to worldwide publishers instead of just US, they would prove to be a serious competitor for Google’s Adsense. If the software monster does take over Yahoo, they might be another start of a monopoly like what they did with PCs.

While I was out today for lunch, I caught this news on the big TV saying there has been an Internet Disruption in India and several countries in the Middle East of which some badly affected countries are Egypt and Lebanon.

It seems like an anchoring ship off Egypt’s Alexandria coast somehow damaged Indian undersea internet cables on Wednesday morning. A spokesman from India said the repair would take about 10 days. Currently the ISP providers are looking at rerouting so that users are able to connect at faster speed. So if you happen to have servers based in India or attempting to access Indian sites only to find that it’s so slow, u know why now.

Thank goodness this didn’t affect US, UK. I can’t imagine how bad the economy would go down further with the recent stock market and economy crisis at the US. People brace yourselves! 2008 aren’t gonna be an easy year!

The video niche became so saturated. A lot of webmasters think they can easily make money off such video sites and lots of such video databases for wordpress blogs are sold in DP. However to be really successful in such video sites would require traffic which could be mainly gotten via search engines.

Here’s the sad piece of news today for video sites owners who uses youtube videos:

We don’t want to discourage you from putting the occasional YouTube video in your blog to comment on it or show your readers a video you like, even if you have general purpose ads somewhere on your blog. We will, however, enforce our Terms of Use against, say, a website that does nothing more than aggregate a bunch of embedded YouTube videos and intentionally tries to generate ad revenue from them.

Needless to say youtube being owned by google, any webmasters found to be displaying ads on a video site infested with youtube videos will risk their adsense accounts getting banned.

The good news for niche video site owners is that there are still many video sites out there such as veoh, megavideo, ouou, youku, stage6. Thankfully these sites are not owned by google so google doesnt have control over them but who knows, one day google might just disallow their ads to be placed on all video sites. That would be a catastrophe. Nonetheless video sites are still very good cash-making revenue streams

What caught my attention was the high CPM that they offer below:

TheNewsRoom (TNR) is the premiere online news site advertising company and their purpose is to help companies and advertisers publish their news around the globe. TNR uses embed codes to display their ads on publishers websites with ad types ranging from video plays to content-like ads (news) as well as image ads. What is so great about them is their CPM rates are fixed! They will always pay you $4 per 1000 plays of a video feed while most advertising companies pay irregular CPM rates.

The good thing I like about this is also it seems like even if you get 1000 page views from traffic sources that comes from China, they would still pay you $4 cpm for video feeds. The other thing to boast about TNR is their video feeds can be set to auto-play as well so you would still be making money even if the visitor does not stay to watch the video feed. Their other forms of advertising seems promising as well such as the Text Story ad, this kind of ad would add as interesting news content to your site and the Image ad would boost colors to your site making it even more attractive. The best part is you can choose the kind of news and content that you want to display on your site which could be lucrative content for your site.

It seems that google has been on the frenzy of penalizing blogs which sells text links or pay 2 post articles. Frankly speaking it’s good that google is doing this to prevent manipulated page ranks. However I totally disagree with them punishing bloggers who do pay 2 post. Firstly this is another way advertisers advertise their products through blogs and it’s only appropriate to post the advertiser’s link back to their website. Big G! this aren’t a very good move eh.

Are there specific things that need to change about the company’s products or culture?

From the standpoint view of Mr. Gates, software seems to be the core platform in which everything else comes from. As I was reading this article I was thinking of how Microsoft advanced so well over all these years. However in the recent years we have also seen Big competitors like Apple, Google taking over part of their industry.

Some of the sites they have bought recently includes feedburner, grandcentral dot com. Gates sees Google as an Advertising Company and Apple as a music industry dominance. These past few years indeed Google has been making billions of dollars from their Adsense Advertisements however there is so much more than just advertising.

As we all know the Big G! has got a super strong search engine that dominates the Search Engine World even whom yahoo, msn live and other SEs can never compete against them. Not only that rumors has confirmed that Google has been buying up tons of Optic fiber cables to set up the next generation of telecommunications hub. With their recent acquisition of GrandCentral dot com (an online mobile platform) it is not a matter of whether are they going into the market of telecommunications, the question to ask is when?!

Currently Microsoft has taken the move to once again dominate mobile phones with softwares from VB.net. Imagine one day Google provides internet broadband services to everyone in the world and cheaper and faster than the local ISPs, what happens when the Big G! decides to not service Microsoft products in their telecommunications network or to show discrimination towards them? It would deem Microsoft products as useless due to incompatibility. Think about that

However the check came slower than the normal check option due to Christmas Holidays. If anyone is considering using the Secured Check option, use it only if your area’s post office is slow in delivering letters. The country which I live in Singapore has a very efficient post office system that a normal check from google will take about 5-7 days to be issued to my letter box upon payment issued from google. Secured Check from DHL took 4 days for me so I guess it’s not worth it to pay extra $24 just for a check that arrives 3 days faster than a normal check.

Gosh next 5 weeks are gonna be one of the craziest busiest period of my life. And there seems to be a little problem receiving checks from google this month from DHL Secured Express Delivery. I will post on the blog when I have time soon. Anyone still out there?

Just a brief introduction, I started off with domaining as my internet career and spent more than 6 hours a day over a span of 40+ days researching and finding out the current market trends of domains. Over the course of the next few days I will be sharing tips and updates of latest trends of the domain industry. My knowledge has mainly came from namepros.com (domainer’s forum) as well as articles all over the web.

A little teaser, the word domainer isn’t actually a dictionary word but most domain sellers use the word domainer to describe their career as it sounds cool

So how can you make money with domains? Here are 3 main ways:

• Buying domains for $8/year (reg fee) and reselling them to other domainers
• Buying domains as investments and selling them off only to end-users
• Earn through domain parking

Now I will explain in detail these 3 ways and/or strategies.

The first method is commonly called ‘flipping’. Domain resellers buy domains from registrars such as namecheap.com and godaddy.com for $8 usd/year and then resell them to other domainers in domain forums. This method requires time and energy as it involves buying and selling domains off at low prices daily but it is a quick and fast way to increase your capital for bigger investments.

The second method moves into the arena of long-term investments. Domainer registers a domain and keep renewing the domain yearly in hope that an end-user buyer (someone who has plans to develop the domain) would come by one day to purchase it at a high price which is often decided by how much a buyer is willing to pay for the name. The seller can then decide to either sell at the offer stated by the buyer or in most cases fight for a higher sale price. This method is what I call ‘Striking Lottery’. We never know when an end-user buyer would come by, but the returns are great!

The third method ‘Domain Parking’ is where domainers have their domains display pages full of advertisements. The domainer earns from advertising revenue each time a type-in visitor clicks on an ad that appears on the page. Two examples can be found here and here. Generally this method generates revenue from mainly type-in traffic and most domains get 0 type in traffic unless it’s a common or generic name that people would just type in the URL address bar. Bad news is most of these generic domains or rather all have already been registered. However there are still ways to earn with domain parking which I will explain more in the next few posts.

As a domainer, my advice is to choose a strategy to take. Sometimes it’s tempting to sell your domains to resellers when you get frustrated in the long wait for end-users. Making up a clear strategy with reference to the first 2 methods will help you make a firm stand between going in for the fast little bucks or lying in wait for the BIG FISH.

I started out 6 months ago as a domainer in online business after my friend introduced buying and selling domains to me. Heh gotcha! Gone were the days when such premium 1 word .coms were completely bought out and cannot be hand-registered anymore. The only way to buy these names is to contact the owner of the domain. To find info and email of the owner, you can easily find it by using domaintools.com.

So I started off with buying 3 names mainly rlyy.com greatbargains.org and weblistings.org. I offered these 3 names to buydomains a domain portfolio company and they offered $20 for rlyy, $55 for greatbargains and $60 for weblistings.org

Wow!! I din know I could make money that easily and so I sold off weblistings.org to them for $60 but it came to a regret as people whom I got to know from namepros.com (a domainers forum) later told me I could easily set up a web directory on weblistings.org and sell it off for more than $500. Oh well what a bummer I didn’t know web directories existed at that time =/

Anyway forget about selling your domains to buydomains.com, they are known to rip people off by buying domains for cheap from nubs and selling them off for a few hundred to few thousand to end-user buyers.

To provide some WidgetBucks perspective to your largely misinformed post, the decision to not credit non-US or Canada traffic came from simply listening to our primarily U.S.-based merchants. To be clear, they don’t value the international traffic — or more to the point, they don’t want to pay for it — because it doesn’t convert to sale, period. A recent erosion of RPC is evidence of how we were being penalized for this traffic. Will we consider geo-coding, other alternatives and/or bringing on non-US merchants? Absolutely (are are looking at these now) but in the short term, we’re focused on recovering RPCs for publishers. Incidentally, it’s important to check the facts before just displaying misinformation on your blog — we had no such problem with Google. The people spreading that were originators of competitive products to WidgetBucks — that is a fact and I’ve got posts to prove it. WidgetBucks may not be for you — and that’s ok. So, they said that they will get no profit at all if they get the click from non us traffic that be redirected to their site. What a bluff. If they will be a transaction or not, they still get a profit from it.

Okay, Just give you some idea. Why not you just credited the click. Example like this:

For non Us traffic= $0.01
For US traffic= $0.10

And if the click from the Non Us traffic converted to sales, you just can add something to give them what the publishers might get. I wish you could coding something better for Geo Location ads, like make a sidebar widget for Wordpress publishers that will show the ads to only visitors from US and Canada according to their IP.

There are always be critiques for the young ads program like you and there a a lot of features can be improve though.

There are to many talented band out there that we could even realize. So, when the platform had made, there are easy for them to be established or get to know someone that might be recognize and probably like to produce an album for the band. And not for the band only, solo singers or trio’s also could be helped by them.

Although they not like an MTV yet in promoting artist specealist recently, this could bring a huge success if it could be develop and promoting gradually.So, for the independent artists out there, why wait?

For me that decision was totally ridicilous and even bad than Morten Meyerson, the man who lend his money to the lame search engine, ChaCha.com.The reason is quite awful for a big high profile company like Mpire.com, who behind the WidgetBucks.

After they being hate by Google so much, because of the “ must not remove link” in the HTML code that been provide by them, now ask we to hate them also. Just because you can’t bringing a return that you had set before, it doesn’t mean you absolutely hit your publishers just like that.

I’m pretty sure that all of the “professional workers” at the WidgetBucks could think something to sort out their problem.They could fokkow the lead of example like Google that put Geo-Targeting and whaetver they could “SmartPricing”  that in simple word, pay the publishers with different rates, depending on the IP address.

So, what happen if publishers get a click from visitors outside from their unrestricted territory? All the click will be direct to the WidgetBucks creator or Mpire.com. And guess who will get the pay if the sale been made although the visitors is outside from North America? Themselves. Come WidgetBucks, you would get to think another best solution here.

There are thousands or more U.S green card holder in other countries in this world and had intended to buy things like when they live in America. So please don’t just make simple assumption like that.Make another visitors from other countries look useless and not worth of quality of whatever you would say. Better not hire a real sloth anyway.

Truly, it so easy to make money with PayPerPost, but then I realize the important part, it could lead to some irrelevant etiquette in blogging and also for the existence of a good and quality search engine.

And when Google are playing their Pagerank system, it hurts the PayPerPost so much, although they said that they would come out with REALRANK to wipe out the PageRank system into their services.

We could see they are trying to re-rejuvenate themselves right now.But probably, this could dead soon.

The problem with ChaCha, was the guide seldom had a knowledge to be so.And mostly visitors are prankster.

ChaCha is a bad idea. For startup ideas, ChaCha stands apart as more awful than just about all of the rest. And that didn’t change with today’s funding news.

Google reason for this:

We’re rolling out a change to our text ad formats to help reduce accidental clicks and increase value for advertisers…..This new format will match the changes we’ve implemented on Google.com to help decrease the number of accidental clicks and increase the number of ad conversions. A reduction in accidental clicks will keep users on your pages, interacting with your content until they choose to click on an ad. This change will enhance the user’s overall
experience with your websites and improve advertiser campaign value, but it’s likely that your click-through rate will decrease.

The pros and cons with it is there are some good things about this for the advertisers.But on the flip side, the publishers could or maybe disappointedly that Adsense had change the rules for it. It has the potential to hurt publishers and it bottom line says, it will lead to less clicks and decrease earnings.

Although Adsense that they expet it to lead to increased spending by advertisers in the long run, they would expect decrease publishers for Adsense in a short time. If publishers suspect a decrease in their earning, it would lead them to find other adsense alternative.

Look like Google had been trapped by themselves for changing this.Google Adsense, had loss it sense a bit now.Perhaps, they could think other way to make sure that it will benefit both publishers and advertisers.

Google acknowledge this, but when it talks about money, they take aside their credibility and their sole aim for what Adsense is all about.I don’t understand why they said that it was to reduce the accidental clicks.Mean, for the recent year’s, all accidental clicks publishers had been paid and hurting some advertisers because delivering fool traffic to them?

If there’s anyone in the Adsense team’s doesn’t have the technologies to track what type of visitors,or to notice that some clicks are accidental?It’s not all about users, it’s all about money they get from advertisers.They had notice decreasing advertisers in their program lately, and now they had to make some changes to retrieve back their advertisers.

And,who will get hurt? Again, users will be the target.Google had lose their attraction to serve users the best and quality services.Some predict that Google will hold the entire internet world.From my opinion, don’t expect that would be true. Who make Google been success? The users.The people.

And don’t forget, users are always the victorious. With Yahoo! and Live had made recent changes to compromise with Google search now, I’m expecting both of them could lead to further develop their search algo quality.And again, You’re not Google Bitch!

That was the sad story.But, hey..it will not me stop from making money.

Also notice for JohnCow blog, the PR is 3 but if you check with digpagerank, it show PR3 and PR 5, and IMO, the PR for johncow will be 5 instead. But, don’t take the PR event too much.Unless the PR decrease your rank and visitors, that will seriously hurt. But, currently, the PR decrease had nothing to do to the serps ranking and same for me.

So, how I can make money online? Eventually, there are many of ads companies use PR as a factor determining the value of link especially, Text Link Ads,TNX and many other more. If you just only use these types of advertising solution to make money, now you must consider it back. What I’m suggesting are, make your own ads board like you see at Techcrunch, Problogger and many other sites and blogs, and  make your price for your blog. Your blog is not other bitch sites and you have the right to set a price according to your visitors and your quality.

In my opinion, the PR downgraded doesn’t affect too much if you had good daily visitors and trusted brand. Since the suspected reason for a lot major site being Google Slapped is selling paid links, I don’t see any reason for the cause.It’s maybe because of re-adjustment of the PR value in the toolbar. But remember, the PR in the toolbar and Real time PR value at Google Datacenter’s is not same in value. And what you see at the toolbar is a 3-month old PR(or more) and that surely can’t be treated as indicator to make money online.

And what happen is, many Ads companies use it as a major factor to get more value for your site in term of money and all they had is, get money from us, using Google pagerank lack of ability as one of their major indicator to rank websites and blogs.

This is a major issue that many of us doesn’t see thoroughly. It’s seem that ads by impression or monthly ads subscription at the sidebar could barely win the situation and for mostly, get better exposure and ROI rather than text link that could affect badly.

Since, I don’t bother with my PR anymore, I sincerely doesn’t look at it too much. I don’t value content, blogs or sites, and people with PR. I value it with what they write, and it’s all about producing good content.

Content is what attract your readers to stay and be your follower. Good content, simple and thorough are valuable to read. If you had to spent your time to do a research for your post, so do it. It’s your readers who read it. What are the most common mistakes for some of new bloggers is to think that once you setup your domain and hosting, and write your first article, you’re ready to make money. Paste some ads you can start to plan an early retirement. That’s wrong..

The only thing that make money from your blog is you. Setup a blog, writing an article is a quarter of the journey of the multitasking work.  The “big” bloggers that you see making thousands of dollars are the patient and clever ones that see the money will come if you hanging there. There’s a pro and contra about the services. As usual, PageRank will be Dominant Factor to get more money.If you had a PageRank 5 or above, one review could be vary from $100 to $300 per post. That’s a huge amount! Consider if you make 10 post per month with $100 tag, you will be paid $1000 at the early month next.

Just now, I can only take a post value from $5 to $1o per post and sure it was a small amount, but; that’s also money right? I won’t agree to much with the PageRank matters that be the factor to gain higher tag price per post. Alexa also be the factor. I don’t find it the true weight to measure the traffic but what can I say. But a blog with low Pagerank, high Alexa ranking also can make money.Don’t worry about it.Just take a little harder.
